Select members of Fridley High School’s Concert Band and Concert Choir recently attended the All-Conference Honor Festival. Open to the best students in band, choir and orchestra, participants spent all day practicing their music with a clinician at the Academy of Holy Angels. They then put on a concert for parents and fellow students in the evening. The music was challenging and had to be learned on a student’s own time, but overall the experience was a memorable one.
Attendees made lots of new friends, and learned many things about music throughout the day. From impromptu jam session in the choir room, to the final cords of the band’s last piece, everyone had a great time and looks forward to taking what they learned and applying it in the classroom. Already, the Honor Choir students have been asked to sing the National Anthem at an upcoming Fridley pepfest, which is a huge recognition.
Congratulations to all those who attended the 2015 All-Conference Honor Festival!
