Game Recap

Fridley looked a little sluggish to start their match against St. Agnes. But as the game progressed, the Tigers found a rhythm. Lauren Backstrom and Anna Haroldson were able to find the back of the net in the second half. Haroldson scored on a pass from Backstrom with less than 10 seconds remaining to make the final score 6-2.

The Tigers take on DeLaSalle on Tuesday night.

Columbia Heights at Fridley on Thursday.

Game Recap

It was a beautiful day at Fridley High School, as the Tigers faced the Richfield Spartans. Richfield opened up the scoring late in the first half, but the Tigers were able to answer on a Chloe Rich goal (assist to Lauren Backstrom) with 4 minutes left in the first half. The second half was pretty even. Richfield was able to break the Tigers’ defense and score the game winner with 15 minutes left in regulation. The Tigers stepped up with several opportunities to equalize; unfortunately, they could not find the back of the net.

Fridley has a busy week this week with games on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday (St. Agnes, DeLa Salle, and Columbia Heights). Monday and Tuesday are away games. Come see the Tigers in action at home on Thursday Night!!!

Game Recap

Fridley, Minn. – Stars top Tigers in second OT. The Academy of Holy Angels handed Fridley their first Tri-Metro conference defeat with a goal in the second overtime on Tuesday afternoon.

Holy Angels lone goal came off a diagonal through ball that split the tigers back-line and landed in the path of Holy Angels forward. Tigers were solid throughout
the night defensively; with Tommy (Junior GK) making 10 saves on the night.

Fridley will return to Tri-Metro play Thursday at home against St. Agnes at 5pm.

Tough loss to Holy Angels on Tuesday night. The Tigers started out strong, but the Stars proved to be too much for Fridley to handle. The Tigers were kept in the game with excellent defensive play and solid goalkeeping. Danielle Bauer stopped 17 of 24 shots including 4 breakaway stops.

The Tigers take on the Blazers from St. Agnes on Thursday night. Game time is 7 PM at St. Agnes.

Minneapolis, Minn. – Edison defeats Tigers 2-1. Fridley streaks to the lead early on, but Edison outlasted the visiting Tigers to a 2-1 victory.

Shamake Nur open the scoring in the first half, but two unanswered goals by Edison earned the Tommies victory over Fridley.

The Tigers returns to the pitch on Sept.15th to face Academy Of Holy Angels in Fridley, Minn.

Game Recap

The Tigers faced the Tommies on Saturday afternoon. Edison opened up the scoring midway through the first half. The Tigers responded a few minutes later with Chloe Rich beating her defender 1v1 and finishing. Both teams battled during the remaining minutes of regulation knotted at 1-1. In the first overtime, Lauren Backstrom drilled a 25 yard blast over the keeper’s head to give the Tigers the victory. Anna Haroldson added yet another assist to her season total.

Fridley begins conference play on Tuesday playing away at Holy Angels.

Fridley, Minn. – Angel Bautista scored the lone goal of the match in the 28th minute of the first half to give Fridley a 1-0 non conference victory over Trinity Thursday afternoon.

Esteban Badillo and Jerry Lara led the Tigers with three shots each, including 5 shots on goal. Despite 5 shots on goal, the tigers couldn’t have a second goal pass Trinity Keeper.

Fridley returns to the field on Sept. 12th to face Edison in Minneapolis.
