Fridley, Minn. The Fridley boy’s soccer team defeated St. Anthony by a score of 2-1 Monday afternoon at Bob O’Neil Field.

Fridley was led by Sharmake Nur and Carlos Conde, each netting a goal.

Fridley will host Brooklyn Center Thursday afternoon.

Fridley got off to a slow start against St. Anthony–giving up a goal in the first 5 minutes. The Tigers stormed back with goals from Grace Prairie (5) and Chloe Rich (1). Prairie scored her second goal of the game in the second half to give the Tigers a 3-1 lead. However, Fridley ran out of steam as the Huskies came back and scored the game-winner with 3.5 seconds left in regulation. It was a tough way to open up conference play.

Fridley plays at Visitation at 4:30 on Thursday.

Hopkins, Minn. – Blake scored twice in a 20 minutes stretch in the first half on the way to a 3-1 non-conference boy’s soccer win over the Tigers on Saturday afternoon.

Blake scored the game’s first goal at 5:15 and another at 25:20 to take a 2-0 first half lead.

The Bears then added a goal in the 66th minute.

Ivan Aquino scored the Tigers’ goal in the 70 minute to cut the lead to 3-1.

Tigers hosts St. Anthony on Monday at 5p.m.

The Tigers came out hot against Cannon Falls. Grace Prairie scored her third goal in 2 games two minutes into the game. 8th grader Abby Peterson scored her first Varsity goal. Junior defender, Lee Knutson, scored her first varsity goal on a 40 yard free kick. Sophomore, Gwyn Hibbard, recorded her first shut-out in net with 5 saves in the game.

Fridley will play at St. Anthony on Monday, September 11.

Fridley, Minn. – Sharmake Nur had three goals, scoring twice in a 15 minutes stretch in the second half on the way to the Tigers 5-2 nonconference soccer win over Cooper High School on Tuesday evening at Bob O’niel Field.

Ivan Aquino scored the game’s first goal at 10:15 and assisted on Shamake Nur’s goal at 39:20 to give the Tigers a 2-1 first half lead.

Fridley (3-2-0) will visit Blake High School on Saturday at 4:30 p.m.

What a game! Fridley dominated possession against PACT, but could not find the back of the net until the second half. 9th Grader, Grace Prairie, scored a pair of goals for the Tigers with her second goal coming with 30 seconds left in the second half. Junior Chloe Rich notched a pair of assists in this hard-fought game. Final score: 2-2.

The Tigers will take on Cannon Falls at home on Thursday. 5 PM. See you there.

Game Recap

Fridley, Minn. Two goals with just over 15 minutes remaining in the game by Edison lofted Edison to a 3-2 nonconference victory over the Tigers.

Edison struck first in the 22nd minute. Shamarke Nur answered for Fridley late in the first half with two goals. Ayoub Faraah was on for the assist.

In goal, Mario Johnson made 5 saves for the TIgers in the loss.

The Tigers play next on Saturday away against Tartan High School.
